I'm Kylie Olsen, a photographer & designer based in my little hometown of Stuart, Florida. Whether you're here for dreamy photos or curated design, I believe you should hire someone who gets you-- someone you trust + vibe with, since we will be spending a solid amount of time together bringing your vision to life.
So, here's a bit about me: Friends & clients alike describe me as a chill bro, an old soul, a spunky ray of sunshine. I grew up around the arts--involved in theatre, music, and visual arts. It was where I thrived. I always hoped I'd end up somewhere in this realm for the long haul & everyday I am so dang thankful for this dream gig and the opportunities it has come with.
In high school, I fell in love with my older brother's best friend. We got married when I was 19 (kinda crazy, I know) but I wouldn't change a thing about our story. He's truly my better half, and has been for over a decade now.
I officially launched this business from my FAU freshman dorm room while studying Fine Arts. It's been unreal to see the good Lord provide over the years. I can easily say I have the best clients around. Laid-back lovers, families, & business owners---oh man, it is such a joy to have a part in documenting life for each and every one of my people.
My husband and I bought our first home in 2020 & gutted the whole thing. We are now in the re-building process. Between the two of us, my dad, and some really good friends, we have been slowly making this house into a home. I plan to share lots of reno updates on the blog here, so if you're into that, tag along & obsess over random house things with me!
In addition to studying photography in college, my other two focuses were pottery and painting. I miss the wheel and having constant access to a studio, but I dream of setting up my own little in-home studio one day soon.
On a rainy day, there's a 100% chance that I'm out thrifting. Finding unique little treasures (or my guilty pleasure of flipping furniture I find in the neighbor's trash) keeps me creative and makes my home funky, the way I like it.
Between my husband and I, we have a combined 11 siblings. It is so much fun to have these built-in friends nearby. I wouldn't want life any other way. Always entertained & always encouraged by these peeps.
You might know my business by it's previous name, Kylie Braydyn Photography. Braydyn is my middle name AND my husband's name. It caused some confusion that we worked together as a duo, and while he did second shoot for me back in college, he is now veryyy happy to be no longer taking orders from me. And the other reason: in 2020 I started to do a lot more design & brand work in addition to photography, so I wanted a broader name for my biz. Kyoco is the condensed version of Kylie Olsen Company.
I take a month or so off each year to travel with my man. Usually in July or August when season slows down. To surf. To rest. To try new foods (which I then attempt to re-create back home). A few memorable trips so far have been when we stayed in a Costa Rican treehouse off-the-grid for 3 weeks of surfing, 2 months backpacking through Asia and Europe, 2 weeks of surfing in El Salvador, and most recently, camping in our minivan while we surfed through the Outer Banks.
