For newborn sessions, my location recommendation is almost always “in-home”; the place where you spend those first days with your new little love. It was an honor to document this family of four, freezing this blurry, joyful season for them to remember. Big sister Layla Jane was unbelievably sweet to her new brother William, with endless kisses and snuggles. My heart was melted and is now extra stoked to see my own little girl become a big sister this fall. A newborn photo tip that I am reminded of time & time again: If babe is happiest resting on mama, then that’s the perfect place to photograph them. My personal thought is, if baby isn’t into the tight swaddles or laying flat in their bassinet, then let’s photograph them just like that: cozy in mom & dad’s arms. Let’s remember their newborn phase just as it was–real & cozy without the rigid, cheesy posing. Congrats to this sweet family on their newest addition!
